When you think culture, you think Yerba Buena. It’s a unique and vibrant district that’s home to some of the greatest museums and coolest experiences in the San Francisco Bay Area. No other neighborhood combines art, entertainment, dining, nightlife, recreation, shopping, and hospitality with unapologetic energy like Yerba Buena does. This isn’t your traditional San Francisco – it’s a modern, exciting, and authentic neighborhood where adventures and opportunities are boundless.

:MINT worked with the Yerba Buena Community Benefit District to create a vibrant campaign to get people to think of Yerba Buena as a destination for tourism, convention, events and business. I came up with the tagline Colorful to the Core to convey the creative side of San Francisco and to express Yerba Buena's wide spectrum of culture, vibrancy, and excitement.

2021

:MINT collaborated with YBCBD again in 2021 to update their brand campaign. After a long hiatus due to the COVID-19 pandemic, businesses in the Yerba Buena neighborhood were opening up again and it was time for folks to come back.

For this campaign, I used modern art periods as inspiration to spark excitement about Yerba Buena and remind viewers of all the cool experiences this artful neighborhood has to offer. I used cubism to depict Dining, surrealism for Shopping, a cutout style inspired by Henri Matisse for Hospitality, and modernism (inspired by Andy Warhol) for Culture. I created original illustrations as well as a mix of stock art to make these pieces. The campaign was launched in 2022.
