The Democratic Socialists of America is the largest socialist organization in the United States, with more than 92,000 members and chapters in all 50 states. In March 2022, the Metro Detroit Chapter of DSA commissioned me to create a graphic for their upcoming demonstration in solidarity with Great Lakes coffee workers, who were on strike for a union and first contract.
The client wanted to incorporate a red rose into the graphic, as it's in DSA's logo and is a prominent symbol for Democratic Socialist parties worldwide. Time was of the essence, so this was a quick-turnaround project that required responsiveness and collaboration between both parties. For the design, it only made sense to use the red rose as latte art for this movement, and the poster was well-received by fellow demonstrators.

I've appreciated Alisa's work for years, so when our DSA chapter needed a design quickly, I suggested we reach out to her. Not only did she deliver on our idea, but she did it in an impressively quick timeframe. The design printed beautifully on posters, which were carried on many picket lines and now hang on dozens of walls.
I highly recommend working with Alisa. She will take your idea and go above and beyond to deliver, she's very communicative and receives feedback well, and her designs are beautifully unique and creative. I can't wait to work with her again!
